Three national health organizations have published new guidance today intended to help employers create more successful programs for gathering health-screening information from employees. Known as “biometric screenings,” the gathering of such information—ranging from height and weight to blood pressure and cholesterol levels—can play a key role in an employer’s workplace wellness program.
The Care Continuum Alliance announced today that Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane will be the opening speakers for the Visionaries Series Keynote Speakers on October 24 and 25, respectively, at the organization’s annual conference, CCA Forum 2013, to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the theme, The Value of Population Health: Implementation Matters.
The Care Continuum Alliance’s annual conference, CCA Forum 2013, is launching a new feature, the Walking Learning Labs, which will further integrate the scientific sessions with the interactive experience of the exhibit hall, while highlighting the research efforts and outcomes of exhibitors, during the meeting October 23-25, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Employers can have a significant role in improving efforts to prevent and treat diseases such as cancer by introducing and supporting health promotion programs in the workplace. Together, companies can influence health care policies and reimbursement and industry practices to support the fight against cancer.
